Best International Brokers in Uganda
Uganda is an interesting regulatory case: since a 2016 amendment, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) technically has the legal power to license “Non-Dealing Online Foreign Exchange Brokers,” yet in practice almost no international broker holds a distinct Ugandan CMA license — most operate under regulators in other jurisdictions instead. Meanwhile, Uganda’s trading culture is built around the phone: MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money dominate everyday payments, and whether a broker plugs directly into them, rather than just accepting cards or bank transfers, makes a real difference day to day. At CT Advisory24, we’ve weighed both factors to shortlist five internationally regulated brokers for Ugandan traders. Tap the info button on each card to see its full technical sheet.
1. Exness
Exness
Strengths
- ✔ Direct MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money integration, with instant deposits and withdrawals
- ✔ Widely cited as the top pick for Ugandan traders specifically for withdrawal speed
Considerations
- ✖ No license from Uganda’s CMA; local protections rely on Exness’ other regulated entities
- ✖ Mainly trading-oriented, limited investing tools
ℹ️ Technical sheet
Exness has no license from Uganda’s Capital Markets Authority; Ugandan clients trade under Exness’ other regulated entities (FCA, CySEC, FSCA, or offshore). Mobile money integration is well documented for both deposits and withdrawals. Always confirm current terms on Exness’ official website before opening an account.
2. Pepperstone
Pepperstone
Strengths
- ✔ Mobile money deposits and withdrawals with no broker-side fees
- ✔ Institutional-grade execution speed, popular with active traders
Considerations
- ✖ No license from Uganda’s CMA; accessed via other regulated entities
- ✖ No UGX-denominated account; deposits convert to USD/EUR
ℹ️ Technical sheet
Pepperstone has no Uganda-specific license; local clients are onboarded under one of its other regulated entities. Mobile money support is confirmed for both deposits and withdrawals in Uganda. Always confirm current leverage and terms on Pepperstone’s official website before depositing.
3. AvaTrade
AvaTrade
Strengths
- ✔ Regulated across six continents, appealing to safety-focused traders
- ✔ AvaProtect lets traders insure individual positions against losses for a fee
Considerations
- ✖ No confirmed direct MTN/Airtel Money integration — bank transfer and e-wallets are the more established routes
- ✖ No Uganda CMA license
ℹ️ Technical sheet
AvaTrade has no license from Uganda’s CMA; local traders open accounts under one of AvaTrade’s internationally regulated entities. Unlike Exness and Pepperstone, direct MTN/Airtel Mobile Money support is not clearly confirmed — check current funding options on AvaTrade’s official website before depositing.
4. FxPro
FxPro
Strengths
- ✔ Transparent no-dealing-desk execution and detailed execution statistics
- ✔ Long track record with multiple internationally recognized licenses
Considerations
- ✖ No direct MTN/Airtel Mobile Money integration — cards, e-wallets, and bank wire only
- ✖ No UGX account; deposits convert to USD or another base currency
ℹ️ Technical sheet
FxPro’s own deposit documentation confirms it does not directly integrate MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money; Ugandan traders fund accounts via cards, e-wallets, bank wire, or crypto instead. There is no Uganda CMA license — always confirm current terms on FxPro’s official website before depositing.
5. Capital.com
Capital.com
Strengths
- ✔ Low $20 entry point and an intuitive interface for first-time traders
- ✔ Broad instrument range across forex, stocks, indices, and crypto CFDs
Considerations
- ✖ No confirmed mobile money support in Uganda; card and bank transfer are the practical options
- ✖ No Uganda CMA license or UGX account option
ℹ️ Technical sheet
Capital.com has no Uganda CMA license and, unlike Exness or Pepperstone, no confirmed MTN/Airtel Mobile Money integration for Ugandan clients — funding relies mainly on cards and bank transfer. Always verify current payment methods on Capital.com’s official website before opening an account.
Methodology
The CT Advisory24 team selected these international brokers for Ugandan traders by weighing Tier-1 international regulation (FCA, ASIC, CySEC and similar authorities) alongside practical funding fit, since Uganda’s CMA rarely licenses the international brokers actually used by local traders in practice. We treated mobile money support (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) as a differentiator rather than assuming it’s universal, distinguishing brokers with confirmed direct integration (Exness, Pepperstone) from those where card, e-wallet, or bank transfer remain the more established routes (AvaTrade, FxPro, Capital.com). Regulatory and payment details reflect the situation as of writing; always confirm current terms directly with the broker before depositing funds.
